Danika Langley, Executive Director of River House Global, joined the Deep Waters Podcast to share her experiences traveling with RHG to the Middle East. Danika, a young but profoundly wise woman from Eagle, Idaho, has been transformed by her international service work into a global citizen filled with the hope of heaven. She carries a vision for the Kingdom of God to come to the corners of the world least reached by the Gospel and for the basic needs of our world’s most impoverished people to be met by the compassion of Christ.
In this conversation, she shares how her time with slaves in brick yards opened her eyes to the power that heaven has over the most evil injustice she’s ever experienced. She reminds us that there is no darkness that is beyond the light of Christ.
She reiterates the importance of Christian hope for the global church. While we can be tempted by discouragement in church attendance her in the U.S., Danika explains how revival is sweeping some of the church’s most persecuted regions. The 80,000 person crusade she got to be a part of demonstrates this hope perfectly, in which roughly three quarters of those in attendance stood up to receive Jesus as Lord for the first time. All is not lost, and the global south has a surprising message of hope to teach us in the west. By God’s grace, we get to be a part of this profound story.
